National dialogue project, arts and health

Sarah Searson and Sheelagh Broderick were invited witness writers at 4 regional dialogue sessions in Cavan, Tullamore, Limerick and Galway. Their accounts can be downloaded here

The sessions focused on the practice and conditions of artists’ work in healthcare environments, and provided a framework through which to discuss successes, failures, risk, supports needed, critique and peer-to-peer exchange. The idea of the project was to allow its participants to address four functions: a) to meet and share information on an informal basis, b) to carry out peer critique, c) to discuss opportunity, and d) to consider the work of artists in this context.

The project ended with a National Dialogues Exchange Day a public event and series of  dialogue sessions. Sarah wrote a document recording the event [ download arts+health ]
